NANCY
NOONAN BIO
Audiences
recognize Nancy as a speaker who is “informative
and inspirational -- as well as entertaining!”
Nancy attributes “entertaining” to her Irish lineage
-- replete with natural storytellers and humorists – and
her innate sense of fun! Her experience in an Improv group also
enlivens her programs with a humorous and interactive energy.
Nancy’s motivating, high-spirited and visually stimulating
presentations give participants ideas and tools to find artful
solutions in the areas of overcoming obstacles, dealing with stress
and change, unleashing potential, sales, communication, humor,
education, leadership and customer service.
Nancy
Noonan, M.A., started her career on stage by tap dancing in the
Stars of Tomorrow show on Atlantic City’s Steel
Pier, modeling with the NYC Ford agency, and being selected as
Miss Maryland. Today Nancy takes to the stage as a professional
speaker, author, workshop/retreat leader, educator and consultant.
As
Principal of Artful Solutions, Nancy uniquely
combines her business expertise in sales, corporate development
and business ownership with award-winning years of teaching college
art history and humanities. She is the recipient of the highly
regarded Master Teacher Award, was selected twice as
one of “America’s Best Teachers” in Who’s
Who Among America’s Teachers, and is listed in America’s
Outstanding Young Women. Numerous Toastmasters awards add
to her speaking acumen.
Nancy
received her B.A. in Art History at the University of Maryland
and M.A. in Art History at the University of Kentucky, with minors
in English. She is the co-author of The
Art of Writing about Art, Harcourt Brace publisher, and
How to Be a Super Achiever: 12 Strategies
for Unleashing Your Success.
Nancy
lives in Boulder, Colorado, with her husband of 28 years, Richard,
a dentist (and great cook!). They have two sons, Gavin, a media
designer and Collin, a college communications major (both following
in mom’s footsteps!).
Nancy
feels that “keeping the sparks flying” is vital in
life and work! She sparks her own life with numerous
pastimes including gourmet cooking, tent camping, hiking, skiing,
fly fishing, soaking in natural hot springs (letting in the Muse),
reading, visiting art museums, attending plays and traveling (France,
Italy and Egypt [see Photos] are favorites).
Nancy is known to occasionally still don a mean pair of tap shoes!
Nancy
is a professional member of the National
Speakers Association, serving as an officer on the board of
the Colorado
chapter. Nancy’s volunteer work includes working with
Community
Food Share, the American
Heart Association, and serving as a judge at the annual Optimists
Club Oratorical Contest for students.
