PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
I.
FROM BLANK CANVAS TO MASTERPIECE: CREATING
EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS IN WORK OR LIFE
Michelangelo
and a Sales Rep? Monet and a Corporate Manager? Georgia O’Keeffe
and a Health Care Professional? Strange Bedfellows? Nancy
Noonan thinks not! Neither do her satisfied audiences!
In
this most requested, highly entertaining keynote, Nancy Noonan artfully
interweaves workplace/business research and examples with stories
of world renowned artists. She enables her audience members to listen
to the muse of inspiration to get new ideas and breakthroughs, leading
to exciting and profitable life and work possibilities, bottom line
results and amazing, masterpiece outcomes! This program has been
called “entertaining, spellbinding, fascinating, upbeat, humorous,
thoughtful, unusual, energizing” and “full of great
useful take-away ideas I can use immediately.”
Be
inspired by Michelangelo! Learn what strategies he utilized
to go from refusing the Pope’s request to paint the Sistine
Ceiling -- “I’m a sculptor, not a painter”
-- to creating one of the most breathtaking masterpieces
in the world. Put your own challenges and obstacles into positive
perspective to:
- increase
sales, penetrate new markets or improve the bottom line
- manage
stress, change or risk
- create
new, profitable ideas or products for your organization
- improve
leadership and management skills
- devise
more creative, energizing and productive ways to operate and to
lead your department or team, or run your lab, business, classroom,
or hospital
...when
you learn how Michelangelo climbed 70 feet, painted upside down,
covered 100,000 square feet of curved ceiling -- with almost
no training in the extremely difficult technique of fresco painting
in the first place!
Every
day, every project, every challenge starts as
a blank canvas . . .
Will you leave your canvas blank? Or will you create a masterpiece?
Paint your best picture – Go for the masterpiece!

STRETCH YOUR CREATIVITY CANVAS!
WARNING:
This program has certain side effects. It is known to help people
generate new ideas and get to know each other better
in the process of blowing open their creativity
(uncontrolled laughter has even been known to occur!).
Team-building and overall morale
are also likely to improve. Beware of revitalization
happening right under your own nose. If you are afraid of fostering
these kinds of improvements, then this program is definitely for
you!
Ever
need to “juice up” your employees, staff or yourself
to make your office a more energized and stimulating place to work?
Do you or your staff or team ever need to generate new ideas or
projects? Better ways of operating? Different solutions or strategic
plans? Ways to be more productive, boost sales or penetrate new
markets? Build stronger teams and improve morale?
Discover
ways to do this by cracking open your creativity and stretching
it out in Nancy Noonan’s dynamic program, Stretch Your
Creativity Canvas!
In
this fun, high energy, interactive program learn and participate
in exercises and activities that “spark” your own ideas
and help you unleash your full creative potential -- and encourage
the same in those you manage and lead. As the Harvard Business
Review and the American Management Association have reported,
creativity is not just a “fluff” ingredient
or just for the arts industry, but is mandatory in today’s
competitive and ever-changing marketplace and world. It is no secret
to business executives who reached their levels, to top salespersons,
award-winning educators or to companies that have edged out their
competition that creativity is important and that creativity
means business!
This program gives you exercises you can take back and
use in the workplace; it also serves to open your people up at the
beginning of a conference so that they are more receptive to the
experiences and information gleaned during the rest of the conference.
WHAT
OTHERS SAY
“Thank
you for joining our retreat and giving your wonderful presentation,
Stretch Your Creativity Canvas! There was universal agreement your
presentation helped to unlock ideas from everyone. Without your
presentation and your guidance through the group exercises, the
day would have become very stale -- and so would the thinking! Bonds
have formed between our two networks that I had not envisioned.
Your presentation went a long way in loosening up the two groups.
Right after your session we had a session on legal pitfalls and
the discussion was very lively –- I attribute that to the
impact of your exercises! Thanks again for a very lively, interesting
and results-producing workshop!”
Joe Miles, General Manager, Frontline
Laboratory Network
HOW
TO USE THIS PROGRAM
This
program is 60 minutes to a half-day. It can:

Nancy’s keynote, From Blank Canvas to Masterpiece: Creating
Extraordinary Results in Work and Life”
- Serve

and receptive to the experiences and information gleaned during
the rest of the conference

III. Mastering
the Write Way: Turning your Business Grammar and Writing into
a Masterpiece!
Do
you constantly misplace your modifiers? Have no point to your
exclamations? Think ellipsis has to do with the moon?
Then
Nancy Noonan’s Mastering the Write Way seminar
is for you!
In this fun, updating and skill-refreshing seminar, experience
how conga lines, chocolate and game-show games help you take your
business writing to the masterpiece level!
“Nancy is AWESOME: she was very funny, very knowledgeable
and very attentive to EVERONE in the class! The seminar was excellent;
I re-learned more than I possibly thought I could have.” Bev
Miller, Inspection Supervisor, Dept. of Regulatory Agencies
It’s
no exaggeration that business grammar and writing skills have
been sliding down the slippery slope at increasing speeds. The
fact is that the written word often replaces face-to-face communication
in our business world. The written word is often the first and
perhaps only way you and your organization are represented
to other organizations -- and to the world at large. So in order
to be represented as well as possible, at the masterpiece level,
it is vital that basic business grammar and writing skills be current,
persuasive and mistake free.
In Mastering the Write Way you and your people will have
fun (yes, fun!), all the while learning (or re-learning) these
all-important business writing skills and objectives:
- Get
past writer’s block.
- Learn new ways to organize your thoughts and write better and
faster (so you get out of the office sooner at the end of the
day!).
- Write
to persuade, so you don’t get deleted or tossed
in the circular file!
- Avoid wordiness and write more concisely.
- Be reader-centered instead of writer-centered.
- Write to the correct behavioral style. (Nancy is DISC-certified
in the four behavioral styles.)
- Get it that punctuation is your friend, not a pain
in the neck!
- Cozy
up to spelling and work on the most misspelled words (including “misspelled”).
- Stop arguments between your subject and verb; make them agree
(or they get a time-out).
- See that the real proof is not in the pudding but in the proofreading!
WHAT
OTHERS SAY
“This training was excellent! Nancy was great in
keeping the interest of the students over the whole two days.” Arthur
Patrick, Electronic Systems Analyst, NOAA
“Absolutely beneficial in every way! Nancy
was great, providing easy and concise ideas on how to remember
rules of good grammar.” Linda McCants, Secretary, Inberg-Miller
Engineers
HOW
TO USE THIS PROGRAM
This seminar is best over a two-day period so that participants
can build on and put into practice what they learn during that
time frame. If you have different needs, Nancy is willing to
discuss options.

V. Artful Communication: Is Your
Mona Lisa Really Smiling?
In
her intriguing, one-of-a-kind program, Nancy Noonan
uses the world famous icon of the Mona Lisa to demonstrate valuable
learning points about communication. Just as art is a great communicator,
there is also a great art to communication! For centuries people
have been talking about the world famous Mona Lisa: “Do her
eyes really follow you? What is she smiling about? What is she saying?”
Even though she does not speak audibly, she definitely
communicates a great deal -- and all on the non-verbal level (research
shows that 93% of all communication is done non-verbally).
What
picture of yourself and your organization do you paint through your
communication skills? In this invigorating, interactive
program, learn the dos and don’ts of effective, artful communication
to frame your personal and business success!
News
Release: Companies across the nation report that communication
breakdown is one of the main challenges their managers deal with
on a daily basis. Whether you are conscious of it or not, everyone

Leading

- personal
and work relationships

Cracking Out by Cracking Up: The Art of Humor
in the Workplace
No
Joke: Humor is one of the newest, least expensive cutting
edge tools for employee retention you can put in your organizational
strategy. You will have a less stressed, healthier workplace, saving
you countless dollars in employee retention and sick day losses.
Offices and departments that run with a conscious approach to the
positive value of humor create a workplace where people are happy
and like to work -- and where they will stay and contribute their
best! A little bit of cracking up leads to a whole lot
of cracking out of the humdrum mold of mediocrity and to
creativity, breakthrough ideas, reduced stress and success.
In
this fun, interactive program, audience members experience the benefits
and importance of humor, laughter and fun in the workplace. They
also learn to spike up their own “humor-ability.”
Have you ever noticed how people are drawn to and listen to those
who crack them up and make them laugh? Your organization will use
humor as a strategic tool to:
- reduce
stress and manage change
- build
rapport and communication, and effectively lead others
- increase
sales and productivity, and reduce time wasters
- write
and deliver more interesting presentations sprinkled with humor
- create
a more positive work and life environment
–
and have more fun in the process!
Nancy
Noonan (generally known as a funny person!) taps into her experience
in an Improv group, as well as her Irish heritage of humor and storytelling
to tell tales that are both “funny” and “about
something funny.” She combines strong research about the benefits
of humor in the workplace with real life and work “humor”
experiences to give your employees new skills they will use every
day. Nancy easily illustrates her conviction that humor is an art
that can paint a better picture of any environment.
WHAT
OTHERS SAY
“I
really enjoyed the fun layered over a serious message! Thank you
-- our college is going through many changes and we have forgotten
to laugh.”

EDUCATION
PROGRAMS
MASTERyourPIECES
for SUCCESS!
In
this high-energy, motivational
and humorous keynote, Nancy Noonan incites students
to make the most of their high school or college experience -- to
end up with a gallery of their own “masterpieces” instead
of a roomful of blank canvases! Students hear that Michelangelo
was ordered by the Pope to paint 12 figures on 100,000 sq. feet
of the Sistine Ceiling, 70 feet above ground! With hardly any training
in fresco painting and strongly disliking painting (“I am
a sculptor; not a painter!"), Michelangelo went on to paint
365 figures, creating one of the most breathtaking masterpieces
in the history of the world! What happened? Students learn what
strategies he used to overcome his significant obstacles and how
to apply those strategies to their own academic and social situations
and challenges for surefire leadership and success!
This program is also beneficial to faculty and
academic professional and support staff.
Nancy
has always related well to the student population. As a college
art history and humanities teacher, Nancy’s ability to really
connect with the students was manifested in her receiving the highly
regarded, student-generated and faculty-endorsed “Master Teacher”
award. Student recommendations also resulted in her twice being
selected in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
Nancy’s insights come from first-hand experience in the classroom,
as a former student and teacher!
“Nancy’s
unique background as an educator gives her insight into the minds
of educators. Her program was fun and invigorating -– a real
“shot-in-the-arm” for all in attendance! Nancy’s
infectious style of presenting gives her participants tools to be
more creative and get more comfortable with change in a fun, enlightening
environment.” Jennifer Naimark/ Professional Development Coordinator/Aims
Community College
“The
program was so fascinating and inspiring -- no wonder we gave you
a standing ovation!” Future

II. CONSULTING SERVICES
Nancy
consults with clients to improve their speaking skills. She helps
businesspeople, executives, professionals, educators, speakers,
and volunteers on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
What
Others Say:
"Your
evaluation of my speeches has been invaluable because you know how
to take a rough sketch and turn it into a work of art. Your keen
eye for detail, mental acuity and exceptional command of "the
King's English" empowered me with the tools to craft a masterpiece
from an ordinary speech. I am especially grateful to you for your
astute observations of my gestures. You ridded me of my troublesome
nervous habit of 'steepling'. Thank you for the time, grace and
insight you brought to making my speaking better. You make the Masters
proud." Beau Patterson, Retired Judge and Motivational Speaker,
Please Rise
“Thank
you so very much for your insightful, thorough and caring critique
of my presentation at the Association meeting. I learned a great
deal from your feedback . . . about content, the delivery and about
myself. You have an amazing gift. You are outstanding in what you
see, what you say and how you say it. Your critique was professional,
personal and positive.” Robert L. Cox, M.D., Speaker, BioForecasts
“Your
comments on my keynote speech covered many dimensions, e.g., 1.)
the art of matching up my presentation skills to the emotions being
displayed by my words, 2.) being sure to give the audience what
it needs to follow along on my journey, including more humor and
a clear delineation of the various characters in my speech, 3.)
delivery, e.g., the use of specific gestures, adding words to paint
a better picture, pacing my phrasing for maximum effect and 4.)
how to interact with the audience so they feel good, too. These
dimensions will help me develop my keynote speech and to become
a more effective, valued, and compensated speaker. Thank you for
your helpful insights.” Kathleen A. Negri, Attorney, Speaker,
